Eating after surgery and after complications

I had my gallbladder removed two months ago, and since have had a lot of abdominal issues, including a clot.  I am unable to eat very much at a time, and feel better eating very little, and mostly liquids.  Can anyone recommend some ideas for eating post-surgery that provide a lot of nutrition, but are in liquid or soup form(s)?  I appreciate any help.  I feel totally overwhelmed.

Geez, I couldn't read without posting! Have you tried the health and healing board, too? They might have some gall-bladder specific ideas for you.

Whenever I've been post-op, I loved me some miso soup or broth, baked potatoes with cheese and balsamic vinegar, lots of smoothies, brown rice pudding. Any pudding! There is a book "The I Can't Chew Cookbook" that might have some good ideas even though your are not recovering from oral surgery. It may be at your library.

Rock the bone broth. Eat what you crave for the sake of getting food into your body and also because our cravings are often body wisdom trying to communicate what we need.

I would also do lots of sauteed or steamed greens like kale, chard, etc because they cook down a lot so you can get quite a bit of spinach into just a few bites, kwim? Oh, and use lots of butter or coconut oil when cooking to pack in the calories.

I hope you feel better and get back to optimal health  very soon!

Thank you.  I will definitely try that board.  I am attempting to do very simple foods -- really go light on the spices, no peppers, tomatoes, or things like that.

I'd go with long-cooked bone broths.  Smoothies with dairy, greens, nut butter and raw eggs, if your tummy can handle some dairy.  I've met a couple of people who couldn't digest it after gallbladder surgery.
