Trying to conceive question, and sperm changing period?

This is our first month trying to conceive. My period is due by this Thursday. I've had mild cramping (very localized cramping in uterus) for about a week but no spotting, and no true sign of my period. I always get extra strong cramps with my period and I can always feel it coming even a day or so before. I don't feel it coming. The cramps don't feel like normal PMS cramps. I still have two days left for my period, as my period is very consistent between 25 and 28 days every month. So I still have a chance, but I also don't have any other pregnancy symptoms other than the mild cramping. I felt really fatigued the past few days, but that could have been anything as I have a 3-year-old at home with me. I don't want to test until I have other symptoms, but it's still somewhat early for noticable symptoms, right? My first pregnancy I had the spotting and cramping and I remember the normal symptoms. I just don't remember when the normal symptoms came on with that pregnancy, such as the morning sickness etc. I really don't feel pregnant right now probably because there are no other symptoms, but something is defintely different which leads me to my next question...

I just read someone posted somewhere else that when you start to try to conceive (i.e. no birth control), you body acts differently to the sperm, and periods may change or become a little more eratic. Is this true? I can't find anything on this. It would be good to know if this was true so I don't get my hopes up every month!

Reacting differently to sperm doesn't sound plausible to me, but who knows. I do know that my period immediately became different (delayed by a week) on our first real TTC month. I think it could easily be attributable to emotions or stress regarding TTC, or re-adjustment to hormone balance after BC. Good luck and don't forget to report back once you test!

Yeah, who knows, right? LOL! When trying to conceive, you start to feel anything is possible :-).

No sign of good 'ol AF yet, and I have a lot of CM today, which is really unusual before she arrives.

I have an appointment with the OB/GYN on Thursday just for my annual, but maybe they can throw in a pregnancy test if AF doesn't show by then. We'll see! I'll keep you posted.
