Lynn, I'm finding that with a solid grounding in history and geography, DD can temper her understanding of a variety of issues. She's spent much of the last several years reading American Girl, Dear America, Royal Diaries, etc, she's got the context to fit things like unions and social justice parts of our political discussions. It's still developing, but she can weave a powerful argument of her own devising and keep up with our discussions with that context.
