Looking for a breastfeeding/delayed vax friendly ped in the Bristol CT area!

Yeah, title pretty much says it all.

I'm not sure if DH would be willing to change peds, or even if I'm ready for that but something's gotta give. Anyone know of any decent docs in my area? Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Not in Bristol. I hear of Dr. St. Onge in Avon (although you'd have to meet with her- I hear if you call they say they don't support delayed vax), Dr. Lahman in Vernon, and Dr. Lopusny in Milford.  Looks like you'll have to travel for a crunchy-friendly doc!  My personal pedi is Dr. Schuck in Windsor- he has been very supportive of BF and has allowed us to delay some vaxes- such as Hep A, B, and chicken pox- but I would guess he is not ok with delaying things like dtap or polio (the more serious illnesses).  HTH!  Liz.

Hmmm. Avon isn't too far away. Thanks for the info!

Not sure if this helps but another approach is to find a flexible ped (and you wont' know this till you meet them) and start simply delaying vaxes indefinitely... I find that some who pretend to be friendly to this issue are in fact not or are willing to debate -- which I'm not interested in.

There are some peds who will refuse to see you if you dont' vax. Take that as a blessing. I think most are kind of flexible.. I don't think you will ever find one who will always agree with you so as long as you dont' back down they will learn that you are not to be persuaded.

I usually just say "we're not having vaccines today, maybe next time" and I did that for 2 years till the ped got really impatient and said 'are you EVER going to do it". Then I said, "I'm am not willing to discuss this right now really calmly and non challantly" because I noticed they started writing things in the medical report and I don't want a record of me deliberately delaying even tho I clearly am.
