Was freaking out.

OMGee. All of these stories make me feel better.

My son is a month old and he just took a spill this morning. I was freaking out! It was about 3am and he woke up to eat... I guess I fell asleep with him in my arms after he was done eating... and boom! Ugh, I just wanted to die when I saw him on the floor. But he just has a little bump/bruise on his cheek, and seems okay now. It's been a few hours....

I think this happens to all of us, mama!  When my son was about 2 mos old I bopped his head pretty hard into the car door while loading him into his car seat.  He did that delayed-silent-scream thing that just shatters my heart.  Then he screamed for nearly an hour straight.  I was so freaked out that I had done damage that I called the after-hours at my doctor, who transferred me to the ER.  I felt like a crazy woman, saying, "here's what happened, he's still screaming, there's a bump, do I need to bring him in?"  Sort of embarassing in retrospect but the thing is, it happens to every baby at some point!  Take heart, they're durable.

Yup.  When DS was about 2 months old I was loading him into his infant carseat which was on a dark porch and I sort of lost my depth preception & grip at the same time and dropped him into the seat.  His head hit the side pretty hard, and then that night he slept from 9:30 - 5:00!!  I was so freaked out but then I realized he was normally going to bed at 8 and getting up to eat at 3:30 so all he did was shift everything by 90 minutes.

I read this somewhere, don't know if I'm quoting it right but: God wouldn't have made them so fast and us so slow if he didn't also make their heads so hard!
