In Search of Socks

So, when I was pregnant I got a bunch of second hand clothes, including some socks.  Elsa's starting to outgrow them but they are the only socks I like - they stay on when she toddles and no other pair I own does.  Problem is I don't know where to find them.

They seemed to come in a set of four.  There's one pair with beige stripes, one with blue stripes, one with yellow and blue stripes, and one that's blue with ducks.  They say "Disney" on the bottom but there are no characters on them or anything.  Has anyone seen these or know where they're sold?  And barring that, do you have any sock brands for a fat-footed one-year-old who loves to run, that will stay on?

Gagou tagou socks from Toys R Us in Canada are the ONLY socks that have ever stayed on our kids.  If you aren't in Canada, can't get anyone to buy them for you or you can't buy them through the toys r us online store, try Ebay, I know I saw some there once upon a time.

Barring that, email me (not PM), my littlest is outgrowing his and if you aren't picky about colour I might be able to get them to you.

We've also had a LOT of luck with old navy or gap brand socks.  The kind that are a solid color with grippy writing on the bottom.

I second the Old Navy socks.... sigh...  even though I cannot stand that store.  They are the only ones that fit DS and the rolled ones go up to his knees for added warmth.

I third old navy socks. The rolled ones are good. They stay on our fat footed thick calved DD

I "fourth" the old navy socks. We have put the ankle socks on our DD since birth and they are the only ones that have consistently stayed up and on.

I just buy the cheap Faded Gory socks from Walmart, they come 9 to a pack I think for less than $6. They have to be the turn cuff kind, that's the only thing that keeps them up. My DD had big chubby feet and legs as a baby and the ankle socks either didn't stay on or were so tight they cut off her circulation.

I have good luck with Stride Rite socks.  My only issue is that they don't have grippers on the bottom.  They seem to stay put a little bit longer though and I rarely find random ones in the car.  lol.gif

What a great idea!  you can buy iron on grippers too, which I have thought about.  I usually just reserve them for shoe days .

I 5th (I think) Old Navy socks (the ones with cuffs, but I put them on him pulled all the way up)! They are the only socks I've tried that stay on, and they stay on really well. Sometimes, it's even tricky for him to pull them off. lol

Yep, old navy. We pull them up to her knees.
