Does anyone know of any good books to teach kids about political views? Our kids are old enough now to follow discussions between dh and me, and I don't feel like I'm doing a good job explaining things to them. Or more accurately, I feel like I'm doing a fine job of explaining my views, but I can't explain others' views at all.
Specifically, I'm looking for books that explain the major American political views: Democrat vs. Republican, Progressive vs. Conservative, whatever you want to call it.
Someone pointed me to the thread about Unions/organizing and that's helpful, but I need more detail about political parties/ideas. For the record, my kids 6 and 9 (really, nearly 7 and 10) and read well. But, they're highly sensitive.
