Anyone own a shop, store, boutique, storefront?Â
If so, how important is the sales factor? What I mean is that products do not just sell themselves, no matter how great they are. You need proper sales staff. How important is this?Â

Why am I asking? At the moment rental prices for storefronts in town are absurdly low (due to bad economy). Of course that also means people are not buying freely, but that is not the issue.

I have the products. I have the money. I have the business experience (from owning a past non-office front small business and DH having his own business, though that is also at home, and not store-front merchandise). I have the marketing skills (from a long background in the graphics and printing industry). ... What I do NOT have is sales skills. I can not read people, their body language, their faces, remember if I have seen them before, what they were interested in, whether I need to try and sell to them or back off.... In ther words, I can not sell. To such an extent that even if I took a class (or 10) in sales, I do not think I would ever be very good at. Fair enough. No one can do everything. But I also don't have the money for both the store and sales staff. So I would have to do the selling. But how realistic is it to have good merchandise, but poor sales skills?Â
