WORRIED. How long does copper stay in cervix?

I am worried. Please respond!! I just got the ParaGuard iud removed last month and got a negative pregnancy test yesterday. Conveiving comes very easily for me so that is why I am concerned. The midwife told me the copper can sometimes stay in the cervix for a little while and menstrual periods will eventually remove it. How much is "a little while"?

Hoping someone can respond. Yes, I'll contact my midwife too, but wanted other opinions as well!

Thanks!!

I had never heard of this.  the copper is on the IUD and goes with it when removed.  I got PG the month I took my IUD out.

I haven't heard of this, either. My nurse practitioner told me that the moment the copper IUD was removed you were back in the game, so to speak. We got pregnant unexpectedly just a month or two after mine was removed. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry!  I doubt it's the copper lingering.  Give it a few cycles and I bet you'll be pg in no time! hug2.gif
