Help me remember the name of this book: teen sexuality

Hi y'all! I don't have a teen (though we're getting close) but I was hoping someone here could help me.

Several years ago someone on MDC recommended a book. It was about female sexuality, how it is dealt with in our culture, the values placed on virginity, etc. It also talked about teen sexuality and how we as a culture treat it with such kid gloves, are so afraid of sexually active teens, place undue emphasis on Chastity = you are worthwhile versus Sexually Active = you are worthless. I'm very liberal when it comes to attitudes about sexuality and I have no issue with pre-marital sex or teen sex (when done responsibly and as an active choice), so this book really resonated with me.

It was such an eye-opening book and really stuck a chord with me. I cannot for the life of me remember the title and searching has not yielded any results. Does anyone have any ideas??

Sounds like it could be The Purity Myth by Jessica Valenti or Slut! Growing Up Female With a Bad Reputation by Leora Tananbaum

I loved The Body Project by Joan Jacobs Brumberg, and it covers this topic as well as the history of menstruation, which was fascinating!

I liked The Body Project. I'll have to read the other two as well.

I liked The Body Project too.  We read that in my Women's Studies class in college.  It's a great read.
