I'm looking for recommendations for some educational software and/or games for DD.  She reads at about a late 1st grade/early 2nd grade level and can use a mouse fairly well.  We've plowed through the Superwhy game and Reading Readiness K-1.  I took a look at the Leapfrog stuff but it is too mainstream character driven for my tastes. She is begging for her own computer for her birthday this year and while we can't get her a "real" one, if there was a reasonably priced computer-like toy that allowed her to play fun, educational games, we'd probably go for it.  I remember really loving my Merlin toy (that dates me, I'm sure) as a kid.  And Simon!  Do they still make that?  Now I'm getting sidetracked though...
