Hello Everyone!
Â
This is my first thread...so hear goes...April 14, 2010 God changed my life forever when I had my baby girl, Khloe GraceÂ
. She was a very determined and excited baby, wiggling and kicking all the way out! I decided before she was ever born that she was going to be a force to be reckoned with! from the first moment I held her she raised her head and looked at me, well...eyes not quite opened looked in my direction. I was amazed that a few minute old child was holding up her head! Little did I know I had an active one on my hands.
Â
By day two I was being discharged to go home and Khloe was deciding to roll over from back to front and front to back...was this normal?! Was she supposed to be doing these things already...she continued to amaze us all as I watched my little love wiggle on her belly and attempt to crawl starting at month 2. And continued to amaze as she sat up on her own at 4 months and 2 weeks...

but that wasn't enough, she decided to just go ahead and stand up on her own at 5 months and 2 days...really!! Was I about to have a walker on my hands?!Â
No here I am with a 5 month old that has decided to just go ahead and make her mark by standing...what was to come next?! Dare I even ask!! She decided for a month or so to do the furniture walk and the stand and let go...now it was on to the monkey crawl...that's right, my little love did not use her knees to crawl! Now I have this strange child who wants to walk so bad, she won't even use her knees!!
Â
By 7 months she had decided that this crawling thing was for the birds (so to speak) and the steps began...By the time she was 8 months and 3 days my little love was walking all on her own and all by herself! What a Christmas present, a walking baby and 2 front teeth!
Â
Then came all the words...with duck being her favorite. She has quite the vocabulary for an almost one year old...duck, mama, dada, cat (tat), dog, baby, banana (nana), milk (mik), juice (deuce), cup, ball, bat, oh lets not forget her favorite NO, and just about anything else we say! I never realized just how much of a sponge those little brains really are until now. She has taught me so much!Â
Her favorite things are putting ducks in cups, blocks in containers, and the truck down the slide! She smiles all the time, giggles at me when I'm mad, and comforts me when I'm sad. She is such a loving child and loves to give eskimo kisses...which we call nosey :) She even recognizes the potty and has used it twice...it is a work in progress! She even made a great stride of switching from bottles to sippy cups and no middle of the night feeding in one week! She just started doing it!
Â
Now here I am with a one year old, next Thursday, and she is doing all of these things that a one to two year old should be doing! I am so very proud of my little one and it definitely begs the question, have my actions and processes for her affected who she is at just one year?Â
Â
Some things we are doing...
I pumped for 4 weeks (my milk ran out) and also bottle fed her from birth. I only fed her home grown food (other than enfamil) from 4 months until 10 months. I used some baby food from WIC (Women Infants and Children) recently, but not more than her normal home grown feedings. I started with vegetables...and she still will pick green beans over fruit!Â
Â
One major thing I did that I really don't see in a lot of my friends and even family is I played with her. I got down on the floor at her level and we played, whatever she wanted to show me or do. It also helped me lose all my baby weight plus 15 pounds!Â
Â
I love my sweet baby girl with all my heart and wouldn't trade her for anything. I just thought I would share some Khloe-bug love from my heart to yoursÂ
Now here is a silly video that I hope makes your heart smile as much as it does mine!
Â
Happy Weekend Everyone!

April :)
