Might Have To Work Wk.Ends-Should I Pump???

I've been a SAHM for a little over a year now. Sadly, due to cutbacks at my dh's works, I'm having to look into pt weekend work doing massage.

Here's my question......my dd will be 1 yo on 4/24 and is exclusively bf. I don't want to start her on cow's milk because she had a recent food allergy issue last weekend. If I do start work, should I pump??? I worked ft with my ds and I remember that I stopped pumping w/him at about 13 mo. But he took cows milk and drank from a cup much better than her. She has never gotten used to a bottle and I really don't want to introduce one now.

Any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks~

I would say the issue is more around keeping your supply up. I was away from my 8 month old for 8 hours this weekend and pumped once - mainly for comfort. I did not have any problems with my supply. I had additional milk (more than I pumped) that I left out for him, but he didn't drink all of it. He did nurse more at night before and after I was gone. You'll just have to play it by ear and see what happens.

Tana~

Thanks for your response. That's what I was thinking that I would probably have to pump at least once for comfort measures and that's so I wouldn't be leaking all over the place. Thanks for your advice:bf!

Warmly~
