Thanks everyone. I was just hoping to get some input from real people, so I can feel a little more comfortable with my purchase.

I got mine from www.americanmedical-id.com
I have the classic stainless steel. Make sure you look at the measurements to make sure it is the right size for your wrist. Some of them are chunky chains and you can't really tell until you get it.
Â
The engraving is really strong, it is more of a stamp. You can engrave the front and the back.

If you really need folks to know what to do in a medical emergency, the above linked bracelets won't be enough (as much as I love the designs!).
Â
We use MedicAlert, because they keep an extensive file on my son's health issues -- doctors names and numbers, past surgeries, exact dosages of medications used, etc etc etc. All the Emergency personell have to do is call the number at the bottom of the bracelet and they will have access to all of the medical history we deem important.
Â
HTH --
We used MedicAlert too. Â You can have more information on your file with just the basics on the bracelet. Â There are other options(like necklaces) but the first place they look is the wrist & it is best to have it as a bracelet due to that.
Â
My dd's has a fancier bracelet part with beads & such.
These aren't medical alert bracelets only, they are meant for athletes that might be involved in an accident, but I'm thinking about getting them for my husband and I and wearing them all the time regardless of activity. Â www.roadid.com

They can do the same thing where they keep an extensive, editable, history on file.
