Hi Sara--I'm a due in April mom, and I've mostly been lurking for the last year (I've been following the March and April boards as all of the new babies roll in).  I just wanted to write and say that I've been so impressed with your wonderful outlook and tremendous patience...I hope you're holding that baby soon, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is really pulling for you, and wishing you the best!!

it really helps that i still *feel* good, physically. just having to battle those brain demons that are beginning to peak around the corners. thank you for your support!!!!

today i'm going to go to the grocery store and pick up supplies for my "after birth meal". i'd made a lasagna a couple of days ago, thinking a midwife could heat that up for me. but i think i'm going to have to freeze it today. so, to the store for me today. i'm thinking smoked salmon, a soft cheese that looks good, crackers, cherry tomatoes, something citrusy... something else?!?

ITA with the previous posters, your baby will certainly be a lucky one to have a mama with such a positive outlook...and he/she will be well worth the wait I'm sure! Sounds like a yummy post birth feast! Sending you good birthing vibes...you"ll be needing them sometime soon!

Sara, I've been where you are many times.  Every single one of them was born right on time.  Hang in there.  Your little one will be in your arms very soon!

It's got to be hard mama, but just wanted to offer encouragement!  I have a friend (in Iowa) who always goes at least 43 weeks.  She's been patient and had wonderful homebirths with all 3 of them.  She's expecting her 4th in "mid July."  (Probably means she's "due" at end of June!)  I envy her though, because I always go "late" too and my care providers have not been patient like hers.  I've ended up with 3 C/Ss after planning for homebirths with all 3.  I even went with an "underground" midwife last time as my only alternative to support my VBA2C atttempt.  She dropped me at 41+3.  This time the best I could do was convince an OB not to schedule a C/S before 42 weeks.  If I go into labor before that and show up at the hospital 6cm dilated he promised to be patient with me.  Otherwise it will be my 4th C/S.  Truly I was blessed to find an OB this patient and open minded (in Illinois.)  I only tell you this because as long as you wait for baby to decide to do things on their own, hopefully you will avoid the slippery slope of one intervention after another that may even affect your future pregnancies/births.  Good luck, mama!  I'll pray that it's easy for you to be patient and that your baby decides to come soon!  God bless you!

thank you <3

i got a recommendation for an acupuncturist and emailed her today. hope to get an appt lined up for later this week, in case there's still no baby in a few days. i wish i didn't have to let my mind go down that road, but with all the laws placed on womens bodies... :/ even in my very homebirth friendly state... i don't want to risk going to 43 weeks.

still feeling good, though!

Sara,

I don't know if you got referred to the community acupuncture I was using (Catherine Lowe at Seastar over on Glisan) but she was able to get me in everyday during the week and with no notice.  I'm sure your little guy is just about ready, anyway!  How is the name brainstorm going?  Sending good thoughts out into the neighborhood for you.

It's hard to wait at the end...I had my first at 42+1, my second at 41+6, and my third at 41+3. Your baby will come and then time will go by way too fast. I can't believe my baby is already 2 weeks old and it makes me a little sad. Hang in there! :hugs:

Thanks ladies. Still waiting!!!!!! Baby is in a good spot, so far as I know. Head down, and facing sideways. Have some more fluid this morning, and maybe some plug throughout the day, but nothing big and no contractions all day. I seem to get them more at night, from 9-11 when I go to bed - maybe tonight's round will pop a baby out lol

I get excited for news every time I see you post! LOL  Here's hoping for a baby in your arms tonight.
