sound machine for baby sound sleep

Sound is like a miracle soother.  I wonder how much we moms hum while pregnant and if the baby is used to hearing that as well as our breathing and heartbeat.  We use an ocean sound machine in the nursery.  We turn it on as we are getting ready to put the baby down.  It seems to work as a cue to sleep time.  A friend gave ma a Sleepy Bee as a baby gift and we take it everywhere to keep the seel environment the same. Both my kids have sleep machines in their rooms and I use a fan in mine (we cosleep part time). My kids are pretty decent sleepers. I don't know if it the sound machine but since something is going right, I'm not changing a thing.
