Blocking/Ignoring member?

Thread Starter

A particular member is following me to the point that it's really concening me and while there are no blatant UAVs taking place (so reporting them is somewhat futile), it's becoming frustrating.

How can I block someone (is this possible? I've never had reason to do it!). Also, when I block them, can they not see my posts... that would be good. I considered changing my username but I've been here a while and it's not particulaly what I'd like to do.

Thanks.

You can block a person so that you do not see their posts. But we cannot block a member from seeing your posts.

Realistically speaking, if the person is following you intentionally they will figure out your username change so that's not really not going to resolve the issue for you. The best you can to do is report any stalkerish sort of behavior and we'll take a look. smile.gif

If you have a member blocked, can they send you private messages?

Also, if you have blocked someone, can you still see their posts if someone else in the thread quotes their post?

yes, you can see the quoted section in the other person's post, but other person is usually pointing out something negative about what they said. winky.gif

You can also very easily see their post. Where there post would be, there is a bar that says you have the member blocked, but all you have to do is click the bar to see what they said.

So, you still have a choice about whether or not to bother reading them. On the plus side, even if you choss to read them you get a heads up that this is member that ......  you know.

(oddly, I never used the block feature under the old UA)

So, for me , I dont really need to block anyone. The few members that I would block get quoted so regularly that I would see their negative comments (which are the ones I was hoping to avoid) anyway. Oh well, thankfully there arent very many people I dont like smile.gif
