Junior Great Books

Hi do any of you use this series - I came across one volume probably at a used bookstore .  I just found it on my shelf and dd devoured it.  I am thinking of getting more in the series - they aren't that cheap though, so I wondered if others had used these.  It seems to be a good source of age-appropriate quality literature.  But I would think that if they were widely used, it would be easier to get them more cheaply, or as a set on the used book market.  But they don't seem to be available that way.   So that led me to wonder whether I should spring for the whole set or still go one by one.

We used these with a small group of friends.  They were great for them to read together and discuss.  We enjoyed them!  I wonder if they tend to not come up used because the program encourages kids to learn to mark their reading.  Maybe once they are underlined and notes written in the margins they don't sell well used?  

Hmmm.....might have to resurrect the program for a high school group.  I'll go check them out!
