Crib sleeping as well as bed sharing- does it work?

I love having my 7 month old daughter curled up beside me at night, and it makes feeding a lot easier, but I'd like to get her to nap in a crib during the day time.  She has begun rolling around a lot and I'd like to have her in the crib so I can work around the house and know she's safe.  I'd also be OK with having her in our bed when I need a nap too.  Does anyone successfully do both or does it have to be all or nothing?

yep, we've done both for several months.  Ever since baby started crawling, I couldn't leave him on the bed to nap.  He sleeps w me at night, but for naps during the day I either nurse/ rock him to sleep in the rocking chair, then put him in the crib; or just nurse him to sleep on the bed and then move him to the crib when he's asleep.  I have found that it's hard to pick him up from the bed if he's in the middle, so I lay with him across the foot of the bed - makes it easier to scoop him up and plop him in his crib!

We have done that since DS was a couple of months old.  He naps in the crib and starts the night out in his crib and I pull him into bed with me when he wakes around 11-12.

We have an 8.5 month old boy and I try to get him to nap in the crib as much as possible and he sleeps in bed at night with us. I try to get him to start the night off in the crib, but it doesn't always work.  We have a video baby monitor that I have to be glued to when he is in the bed since he's crawling, pulling up and cruising furniture already.  We've been successful doing both the crib and the co-sleeping.

We haven't had any luck getting ds (5.5 months) to sleep alone anywhere - the crib, our bed, the swing, etc. We'd just like him to sleep in the crib for naps and to start the night there. Maybe some babies aren't as flexible as others? I'm sorry I don't have more concrete advice, just hugs.. You're not alone!
