Looking for a study on teenagers learning to use media as quick as toddlers

Hi

I am not sure where I read this (either simplicity parenting/heaven on earth/you are your childs first teacher) , but the author said that there had been studies that 14 year olds without any prior knowledge learned to use media just as quick as their peers who had used them since toddlerhood..

I am having a hard time with my inlaws , as Jamie does not watch TV/uses computers etc (he´s only 2.5) and I would like this for my MIL to read..

has anyone seen such a study or knows on which page in which book it is? I cannot find it!

It was Simplicity Parenting, which I just happen to have right nearby! The footnote says:

Regardless of what your in-laws "come back with" or say.

Bottom line: "They are your children!"

Your in-laws did what they knew best for their children. Now it's your responsibility to do what you know best for your children.

I forget if any specific studies were done with this, but here's a Ted Talks video about how a group of kids who had never even seen a computer quickly taught themselves to use one. Even if this isn't exactly what you're looking for, it's a really enlightening discussion of education!
