Are closed windows & eyeglasses dangerous???

LOL sorry these are kind of dumb questions but I find myself thinking about them multiple times a day!!

Closed windows -- i.e. DS likes to climb onto the back of the couch (he has good balance, I don't worry about him falling) and lean into the window to look out it, or just generally hang onto the window... I have a HUGE fear of heights and I'm always terrified the window will somehow just fall through the wall and he'll go down with it!! OK it sounds a bit ridiculous to type but anyway...

And eyeglasses... he LOVES wearing our old (prescription) glasses and DH & I worry that doing so for more than a few minutes will somehow warp his eyesight. I think he'd wear them all day if we let him!!!

Windows are pretty sturdy, but baby bars are probably a good idea for 2nd floor and higher windows that open in any way. (They're required by law in my city, actually). I don't know about prescription glasses affecting vision, but you might be able to pop the lenses out so he can play with them at will. I imagine unless you're wearing them all the time, it's not going to do much except throw off your vision while you're wearing them.

I wouldn't worry about the windows (but I would discourage it).  Just make sure you don't open those ones in the summer without window bars.

As for glasses, I would pop the lenses out to be safe.
