At my 18 week sono they found a choroid plexus cyst. I was told it was normal and that sometimes it just happens as a normal part of development. But that I would have another sono at 27 weeks to check it. I was told that typically they are gone by 27 weeks.

I asked what would happen if it wasn't gone and was told my midwife only had one woman who's hadn't cleared up by 27 weeks but it was gone by 32. When I asked what would happen if it wasn't gone then, I was told that I'd be referred to a specialist, but not really told for WHAT.

Well, last week I had my 27 week u/s and it's not gone. I meet with my midwife Thurs to get more details. When I search online, the only thing I can find is that it's totally normal - but gone by 27 weeks.

Sometimes it can be a soft marker for trisomy 18 - but there are no other markers. Kidneys look good, heart, hands, feet and growth is not slow (2 weeks ahead actually). SO I'm not worried (too much about that).

Just wondering if anyone else had experience with this and what happens if it doesn't go away?
