Anyone else going to the chiropractor and doing webster technique/psoas work?

I'm just curious to see if anyone else is going to the chiropractor and what your experience has been. Last pregnancy I went and the chiropractor massaged my piriformis muscle (it's sooooooo deep and hard to get to, so it caused awful bruising) and did a basic hip opening adjustment that I've seen performed on non-pregnant people, too.

This time (new guy) he did the same piriformis massage (ouch! HUGE bruise! but feeling so much better now).  And he's also doing all kinds of other stuff that feels great!  He even has the special pregnancy pillows.  He really seems to know what he's doing.  Since the first adjustment, baby seems to move a lot more (big movements, too) and she seems lower.  Not that she's dropped, but it really is like she has more room in there now.

Mainly, I'm curious about this:  I've always read how women who get adjusted tend to have shorter births (I'm guessing it's because of the optimal positioining of the baby helping to put the right pressure on the cervix and helping things to move along great).  However, despite my adjustments, I had a prolonged labor and an asynclytic baby.  Was it just that my chiro was not very experienced with pregnant ladies?  Since my chiropractic work seems much more extensive and purposeful this time, I wonder if this baby will be positioned better...and therefore come out faster!  I sure hope so.  Asynclytic labor SUCKS!

I had to start chiro treatment a few weeks ago because sitting at work had become unbearable. My chiro has a special table that lets the middle drop out so my belly can go in it. He has lots of pregnant patients and seems very skilled in what he is doing. He mostly adjusts my pelvis because it keeps twisting. He also does a basic adjustment on my spine. He said that he adjusted his wife throughout both of her pregnancies and her first labor was 6 hours and her second labor was 2 hours. I'm mainly going for adjustments at this point so I can survive the next three months at my desk job but if a super short labor is a result then that will just be a bonus! I haven't noticed that the baby moves more after I'm adjusted but I have noticed that my constipation issues get better the day after an adjustment which I wasn't expecting!

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask my chiropractor if he adjusted his wife during her pregnancies and about her labors.  6 hours and 2 hours sounds awesome.  My last was about 15 hours with a couple days of start/stop labor after that.  I wonder if they'll do adjustments on women who are IN labor if the labor is sluggish over a period of days?  SURELY that won't happen to me again, though....eyesroll.gif
