East Valley Phoenix Holistic Moms Network kickoff event!

I am starting a new chapter of the national non-profit organization, Holistic Moms Network! The open house/kickoff event is going to be held Sat. 4/30 from 3-4:30 at Nurturing hearts Birth Services in Mesa and the first meeting will be at the same location Tues. 5/17 at 5:00. I really hope to get lots of members for a big community of us holistic mamas! The open house will have some prizes and opportunities for membership and leadership roles in the group. I'd love more info! I'm in Mesa. Are you starting a group that will meet regularly? Is it geared toward moms with younger children?

Yes! The mtgs will be once a month, actually one every 4 wks. Same time and place (Tues, 5pm at www.nurturingheartsbirthservices.com ). Some weeks will have speakers, some open discussions. Topics will include alternative healthcare, green living, and any and all holistic living type issues you could imagine:) I'll prob start a playgroup, lending library, and more for our members too! Come on the 30th, it'll be a casual open house w/toys for the kiddos, prizes, and more information...you can bring the whole family (my hubs is a member and will go to the mtgs too - men are welcome).

It's really for any ages, I hope there will be moms w/kiddos of all ages, grandparents are welcome, too. Maybe if there's enough interest we will be able to do a homeschool co-op.

I forgot to post the website for more info: www.holisticmoms.org is for national, our chapter's website is http://eastvalleyaz.holisticmoms.org and we have a yahoo grp for members, too. The website has the site location...

Yay! Glad to hear dads are welcome to, I think my hubby would enjoy coming. Is it okay if we come even though I won't technically be a mom for a few more months? smile.gif

Definitely going to try and make it!

This looks very cool. I'm in North Central Phoenix, so it's a bit of a drive, but Id love to come. It's bang in the middle of DS's nap time though, so hopefully DH won't be working and can babysit.

Moppet-congrats! Of course, we love preggies! One of the first grps I want to put together is a meals for moms that just had a baby...did I also mention the open house will have chair massages??

Smallbrit, I hope you can make it, but if not, you can join us for our first mtg on the 17th to get more info! I heard that there might be a chapter starting in N. Phx area, but not sure any details. You could transfer over if they do start, we'd love to have you w/us!

Ohhh, chair massages, you said the magic words! Not sure if I will be able to make the open house, DH doesn't get off work until at least 3, but will definitely try. Nurturing Hearts is super close to our house though, so I should be able to pop in for at least a bit. I assume you'll be in the big area upstairs?

moppet - I'm not sure how long it'll last, I'll pm you my number and you can always call me that day to see if anything's going on or not...or stop by if you want since you're close if just to get the info. But anyone can email me through the website and be put on the email list, or you can even join already online which gives access to the member's yahoo discussion grp and national group too! Yes, we'll be upstairs and that's where the mtgs will be (is Stephanie your mw?)

Yay for Holistic Moms! I'm so happy it seems like we're going to have a great group!.
