Has anyone ever got bloodwork to see what your levels of vitamins/minerals are?

I have heard at the upcoming 9month ped appointment that we have that they check babies' iron levels and if too low that I will be asked to supplement.

So I am curious to know what my current levels of Iron, Vitamin D, as well as calcium and folic acid are so I have a general idea of what DS is getting through me.

What was your experience? Where did you go (your ob/ family doctor/ hospital/ after hours clinic) and how were the results given to you?

Can they test for all vitamins and minerals?

Thanks!

I can tell you this-- how much iron you have doesn't necessarily translate to your baby, except if you were anemic during pregnancy your baby has a chance of being anemic too. But mom supplementing with iron does not mean the baby gets more iron.

vit D is passed through breastmilk though. i got my level checked and was low, so i increased my supplementation.
