Possible to block forums and/or threads?

Any chance we will be able to block seeing certain forums and/or threads in the future? 

I like to use the "New Posts" feature to see what is going on across the board, but there are certain forums I just don't have any interest in reading posts from, and certain threads that I find upsetting and distasteful that I'd rather not see.  I'd love to be able to block seeing these threads, or posts from those forums.  Similar to the "Hide this post" feature on Facebook.  I use it alot there, because I have a friend who likes to post about horrific news stories relating to children.  It causes me distress to see that post over and over in my feed, so I block it.

I'm not aware of this as an upcoming feature but you can suggest it via our Feedback form.

A suggestion from our tech team - if you click "Subscribe" at the forum level, new content appears on the Subscriptions page: 

 

http://www.mothering.com/community/users/subscriptions/

 

This workaround won't completely prevent you from seeing threads that you'd prefer not to, but it will make it easier for you to avoid forums that make you uncomfortable.
