Toe curling pain.

Thread Starter

Ive been taking meds for Thrush and its just gotten worse. It was mildly annoying a few days ago, last night i used Gentian Violet and the pain this morning is agonizing. I was given antibiotix at the birth so this is the culprit i think.

I have to go back to work in 2 weeks and really need relief, I cannot imagine pumping right now. My nipples are raw and sore. Its terrible. What else can I do? Baby is 10 weeks tomorrow.

Do I have to wash all towels sheets bras etc in hot water and bleach? Boil the binky etc??

HELP!!!

Also Baby shows no signs besides crazy bright green poop. Im talking neon green!! no diaper rash  or any thrush in the mouth.

Are you sure it's actually thrush? I didn't remember that thrush would cause nipple damage--I thought that was almost always due to latching problems? I'm just wondering since your babe shows no symptoms and your pain isn't responding to thrush treatment.

Does it hurt all the way through your nursing session or just at latch-on? What's the pain like and where is it located?

I had toe-curling pain the first 5 mos, and looked at thrush symptoms a lot, but didn't really have the symptoms. Finally decided mine was probably vasospasms/small mouth issues. My point is, there are more reasons than just thrush for pain, so maybe it's something else? Sorry I'm not more help if you've already narrowed out other causes and are sure it's thrush! Hoping for pain-free nursing for you soon!

Edited to add: Just noticed you're in OKC too!

If it is thrush, applying yogurt should give you immediate temporary relief. Glob it on with a q-tip, keep it in place with a nursing pad, you can wipe/rinse it off before nursing, or not if you babe is old enough to have yogurt. If you do this several times and get no relief, you may not actually have thrush, but something else.
