new car seat for talk skinny 4 year old?

looking for a not too expensive car seat for my 4 year old. she is 30 pounds but tall. i would need this too grow with her.

We love our Graco Nautilus, my dd is 4.5 yo and also tall and skinny!

How tall is she?  I like the Nautilus, but if she's really tall you might want to look into the Britax Frontier.

this morning she is 42.5 inches. next week, who knows? lol.

My daughter is right at 40 inches, and she has TONS of room to grow in her Nautilus.

ds is tall and "heavy" about 40lbs and 41-42 inches.  We ended up getting him a Britax Frontier, because it has 3 crotch strap positions instead of 2 (nautilus), but we bought it when he was still in diapers so he took up a lot of room!  If you have a TRU or a BRU near you, you can try out the seats and see how well your lo fits.

DD is 5 1/2, still harnessed, 45-46 inches, 45 pounds and still has lots of room in her Nautilus. We really love it.

It really depends on her torso height.  My kid outgrew the Nautilus before 40 pounds because she has a very long torso.  Most kids last much longer.  The Evenflo Maestro is another option, which is more affordable.  The top strap height on it is the same as the Nautilus.

My 4yo dd is 41 inches and 34 pounds.  She is in a Maestro and has quite a bit of room to grow in the harness -- she is using the 3rd of 4 sets of slots for the straps.  I expect it will be a long time before she gains 2.5 - 3 inches of seated height.
