Looking for a very thick and healing lotion or salve for a burn

About a year ago, DS suffered a 3rd degree burn on the surface of his hand.  Thankfully, it healed well and now that he is not wearing the compression glove anymore, the doctor said that we should massage the scar with a very thick cream or salve in order to keep it hydrated and to stimulate new tissue growth.  His recommendation was Auqafor, but he said we could really use whatever we want.  I don't usually use petroleum based creams and was hoping to find something with better healing properties.  

I could make my own salve with beeswax and calendula, but I don't have the supplies and would need to order them.  I was thinking I would just pick up something at Whole Foods until I get around to gathering the supplies and what-not.

Does anyone have any recommendations of specific brands that worked for tough scar tissue?

The Tropical Traditions company makes lotions and creams that contain all natural organic ingredients containing coconut oil and palm oil, which is very high in vitamins A & E. It might help soothe and heal burns and skin issues in general. The cream is especially thick and the TT products really soak into the skin. The calendula sounds good too, and I'm sure there are other homeopathic essential oils that might also help. Perhaps another poster knows of some?

The best stuff I have found is Simpler's Scar and Burn Oil. It is an essential oil/ healing oil blend and packs a powerful healing punch.

Thanks, mamas! I have actually heard of Simpler's because I have used their essential oils before.  And I know our local holistic pharmacy carries the Tropical Traditions.  Gonna check them out tomorrow!
