How do I find a community of Unschoolers in Alaska?

Hi I'm new here. I never thought I'd hear myself say this but I think I'm ready
to keep my kids home. I was intimidated by Homeschooling but Unschooling seems
much more up my alley. I still have a lot of research to do on Unschooling, but
my gut instinct tells me it would be really great for us.

I'm a mom of 3, living in Anchorage Alaska. We are currently at the Waldorf
school and love the community. My kids would miss their friends & we as parents
would miss the community. I would feel much better making the transition knowing
there is support from a community of Unschooling folks near by.  I w/b even open to relocating.

Thanks for being here, I look forward to learning more.

We are doing a mix of unschool/homeschool.  I'm not ready to let go and do 100% unschool and I'm pretty sure my DH would have a hard time with that as well.

How old are your kids?
Mine are 10 and 8. We have homeschooled before so that part is not new to us.

Oh we also live in Anchorage. :)

I belong to an Anchorage based homeschooling group Anchorage Life Learners:

There are several families in the group that are unschoolers.  It's a newish group, started last fall.

I think we definitely lean towards unschooling, but cirriculum keeps us honest at the same time.  ;)
