Pulley Clothesline help

Thread Starter

I have finally convinced DH to make me a pulley clothesline. I want to have one end from the back deck and I'm not sure where to go with the other end. We have 2 trees fairly close to the deck, one on each side  and a few pretty far away. DH doesn't want to have to mow around or take a post down each time. Any ideas? If anyone has a pulley clothesline, please share any tips or tricks. Where or how is yours attached?

Huh I know I answered this the other day. I wouldn't attach it to a tree as they shed, sometimes a really sticky substance, sap, that would get on your line even if you didn't hang your clothes under it. Mowing around a pole isn't that big of a deal.

Yeah, posts aren't that big, so mowing around them isn't that big of a deal.

We have a very long pulley clothesline that comes out of an upstairs window and goes to a large pine tree.  The tree sap got on the eye hook, but not the line or the clothes.  This line is great because the kids can play under it, even with sheets or large items drying, and still not reach any of the items.

We also have a small, non pulley line that attaches to a tree and hooks onto the deck.  This is a hardwood tree and the sap again only got on the metal eye bolt, not the line.  When we want this line out of the way I just unhook the deck end, wind it up and put the wound up line on a broken tree branch.   This is our older line that dissected the play space in half.
