time for my weekly bump pic update!

and for the curious, this is one of the few tops I have from Motherhood. I LOVE that it has pockets (since the pants do not)

Have an appointment today, will see if my efforts of actually trying to eat more have led to any weight gain. Scale at home says not so much  -

35 weeks! part of me hopes she will arrive a little early, part of me says I'm not ready!

Ditto.  I'm 32 weeks, have most of my to-do's done and am now just waiting....uncomfortably......and part of me hopes that this baby will come early-ish.  But....I am FREAKING OUT about the fact that my little family of 3 is about to grow, and how did my first sweet baby grow up so fast? (she's 2), and these are my lasts days and weeks to spend just with her...and I got all teary just typing that.

I'm going through the typical fears - how can you love a second like the first?  Can I be a good mama to 2? etc

I have a followup ultrasound today, just to check on size and position.  I am so excited to see this little girl again!

Katico - my dh had the same fears....now with number 3 he  really worries because

1. he only has two arms...lol

2. his little girl has such a special place in his heart...can he feel that for another little girl??

3. his boy is is SON...his first born...they are super bonded....

they both have started showing a bit of jealousy when one is getting cuddles...mostly since I got pg....but it may have nothing to do with the pg...just the  4 / 2 years stages they are at....

they LOVE each other sooooo much....ds is the first thing out of dd's mouth every morning....we co-sleep and they love to cuddle each other...if either one wakes in the night they move back to where they are touching and fall right back to sleep....def fills my heart :)

my main concern with #2 is #1's reaction. I just don't know, and since I don't know, I don't focus on it a lot. I am wanting to do a couple more special things with just him in the month we have before DD's arrival.

the BH's are becoming stronger and a whole lot more like prodromal labor. fun stuff, that. I'm taking it easy until 37 weeks, when I will be trying to walk and do things to encourage labor.

My BH's are pretty serious this past week too.  Uncomfortable!

The ultrasound today was great - said she looks great, has a little bit of hair and is weighing about 4lb.  They did say she is measuring a bit big - they think she might be 7.5-8lb when she is born.  Maybe I should lay off the ice cream...ok, I should DEFINITELY lay off the ice cream  lol.gif

I meant also to mention that at 32 wks she is still breech.....DD was breech until about 36wks so I'm trying not to worry, but I think I'm going to start working the frozen peas and flashlight tricks to try and get her to turn!

Glad I'm not the only one hoping for a slightly early arrival. I'm 34 weeks now & have been 2cm dilated for almost 4 weeks now - this morning I noticed my cervix is shortening more. I would be perfectly content if she came a little bit early as that would have us avoid an induction (my ob feels pretty strongly about not going past 40 weeks because of the gd).

This is my dream - to start dilating early.  DD was an induction at 41 wks due to BP and I will do just about anything to avoid another induction this time.  Although with DD we weren't sure about her dates and I suspect she wasn't actually "overdue" - with this baby we know exactly when she was conceived so we're more confident about the EDD and hopefully she will arrive on her own, "on time"

I would love to dilate early, and even deliver early! I have a feeling I'm going to have a typical first-time cervix and stay pretty closed and hard until very close to delivery. Currently my cervix is still far enough back that I can barely feel it when I check myself. I'm pretty confident I'm going to go about two weeks overdue. My mom was 2 weeks overdue with me, my MIL was two weeks overdue with DH, and... well, it's just the kind of luck I have! I'll be 34 weeks Wednesday--hopefully I can make it another 8 weeks without being too miserable!

Had an appointment yesterday - 32wk, 3days!  I gained 5 lb in 2 weeks!!!  The nurse who was doing that part of my checkup was all like "oh dear, well, that is a bit of a jump!"  And I laughed!  It's like, lady...I have gained a total of about 2 lb total  in 8 months of pregnancy....after that wierdness, why would I worry about 5lb showing up suddenly?  It will probably be gone the next time you weigh me!

Otherwise, my BP is nice and low, baby sounded good.

I'm starting to grow out of all my shirts!  The belly is definitely a real belly this time - much more so than with DD!  I am bigger at 32 wks than I was at 42 wks with DD!  I can't really imagine getting even bigger! I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what to wear!  It's awesome!!! I wanted a real belly so badly when I was preg. with DD, it is so much fun to be CLEARLY pregnant, not just fat!

Ladies....we're having babies....like, for real!  And so soon!!

My very first belly shot.  Thank you ladies for giving me the courage to add mine to the diverse bellies in this DDC.

I already commented on the other thread--but I missed this thread! You look beautiful.

I am SO ready for this little one to be here. And even though I'll be 36 weeks in a couple days... I still feel like it's forever away. Part of that might be because I'm expecting him to be quite late, so I'm mentally tacking on an extra 2 weeks to everything. :P

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow (will post a new belly pic, I promise) - and also trying to remember that she could be here either any day or in as much as a month! I don't like the sound of that - I'd rather sooner than later! become so uncomfortable . . .but on the plus side, she's dropped a bit, so I can actually eat! whoopee!

on the down side, my belly seems more pendulous than ever, which is really uncomfortable sitting down, which I have to do for work. but I'm hoping the dropping is a good sign she'll be close to on time and not really late like my first.

Here is a random question......I bought a boppy to use for nursing, but I just tried it out, and it seems so small, like doesn't fit around me so great. I'm thinking I should return it and get something else. Has anyone tried "My Breast Friend" or have any other ideas for me? Thanks!

I haven't used either, but I wonder if it won't fit better once you're not pregnant? I just used a bed pillow.

Its wonderful to read all these updates!

I too have a boppy that seems a bit tight but Im holding out to see if it fits better once I deflate a little...otherwise I will just use my body pillow (its a right angle)...

At my 36 week appointment I was "a fingertip and a half" dialated, hoping things will move a long on their own.

My OB is willing to let me go to 42 weeks before discussing an induction AS LONG as my bp does not do anything scary and the baby stays around 9 pounds or under....at 35 weeks he was 5 pounds 3 ounces..

I had a boppy and had no problem "fitting into it"  - I agree that it's a much better fit without the baby belly in the way!

I've been having a lot of BH contractions in the last few days, but I'm self-checking and there's nothing even resembling dilation. I'm still soft, but high and closed. No baby coming anytime soon! Unfortunately, the last of my showers is this coming week, and after that I'm not gonna have anything to keep my mind off of just waiting impatiently for him to get here!

Yesterday was my baby shower hosted by my mama. It was small (about 8 people) but so nice. I had no idea that throwing me a shower meant so much to my mom--she said she's been looking forward to planning my baby shower since I was a little girl. With my dad being out of work, they don't have much money, but my aunt, who's super creative, went crazy and did a whole bunch of decorations and favors and stuff.

She also gave us a couple bags of hand-me-downs from a friend of hers who had a boy about this same season a couple years ago. I have SO much newborn-6 month stuff now that I'm going to need to return anything else I get. This is expensive stuff, too! Baby Gap, Ralph Lauren, DKNY... I would never be able to afford this kind of stuff on my own.
