And he loves it!Anyone else have a child on the autism spectrum who's also taking karate? The place we are going to has a lot of experience with autistic kids.He had his first group class yesterday, and he did so well!He recieved his uniform and was so happy to put it on.He was having a little trouble keeping up of course, but by the end he was really getting into it!He earned his white belt and was so proud. We're on a 24 month contract,so he had better love it,lol! My mom is purchasing his weapons kit soon, but we did order the nunchucks as they are learning how to use them right now.He was so cute learning how to do the moves, and learning how to say ma'am and sir,as well as YES I CAN really loud when he bows.I love that they are not allowed to say I can't.The place is wonderful, and they do all kinds of events throughout the year, and some Fridays are parents night out, where I can drop him off for a few hours and they do structered activities and eat pizza. We found out about them through an autism walk we went to.They also do free birthday parties where the child gets to cut the cake with a real sword. It's awesome! It is very expensive, but spliting it between myself,my dad and my mom and step dad keeps it affordable for me.

I'm hoping he learns some confidence,as well as self control and gets some self esteem and makes some friends. That will be so cool. They told him if he works hard,he may be a black belt in a few years. That's awesome!I am so excited for him.:)
