thinking of getting a few pigmy goats any advices?

I still have to build a little shed for them and fence in a area. I was raise on a goat farm in Canada. But it was regular size goats. Now where I live I only have 1/2 acre and it is zone residential. But I want goats for their milk. So, yes I'm cheating the rules a little. I figured pygmy it is small nobody will see them from the road and I don't have neighbors

Anything I should about pygmy goat before I go to far in this crazy project???

All I can add is make sure your fences are right for pygmy goats!!!! I had fencing for standard size goats, and they worked great. Enter my Nigerians, who can get out of anything! They squeeze between fencing, they jump over fencing, they open gates!! Something to keep in mind, esp. if your are trying to be discreet! Good Luck, hope you can make it work. And maybe get two, because just one may get lonely and call out, thus alerting the neighbors to their presence

Be prepared for where they will live if you get caught with them and are forced to remove them. Bringing goats to property that is not zoned for them is asking for trouble from the PTB.

That. Goats are noisy and curious. I can't imagine trying to keep them undercover.

I don't know a lot about them, but a good friend keeps them and her biggest problem is dogs. Roaming dogs often get into the goat pen and kill her goats because they are so small and fun to chase. She has lost a lot of goats to stray dogs and it's always different dogs. Make sure you have a very high fence and that there is NO WAY for dogs to get in.
