Cloth-friendly rash cream/ointment?

I don't anticipate needing it, but I thought I might want to have some on hand just in case--since it's likely not something I can just run to the grocery store and pick up when I need it.  Are there any diaper creams/ointments that are cloth-friendly, or should I just use liners and/or disposable diapers if I need to use a cream for a rash?

I would definitely recommend having a safe cream AND flushable liners (like BioSoft) on hand. I line my diapers even when using a "safe" cream and double line or switch to sposies if I have to use something with petroleum.  Both my kids have been exclusively in cloth and both have developed diaper rash at one point or another due to teething, illness, allergy, or accidentally being left in a diaper too long.  Plus you will want the liners for when you're dealing with meconium for the first few days.

Here are some safe brands:

Avalon Organics

California Baby

Nature's Baby

Burt's Bees

Arbonne

Grovia Magic Stick

Earth Mama and Angel Baby

Punkin Butt

Grandma El's

Weleda Calendula cream

and many others (go to cloth diaper sites and see what they are selling)

I use Lanolin as diaper rash cream when my kids are in cloth. it dissolves in hot water, which is what I wash my dipes with anyway. also great for sore nipples and chin/neck rashes from drool. and baby chapped lips. I've been able to find Lansinoh brand everywhere, including my grocery store.

PP list is pretty complete.  The California Baby you may be able to find at Target.

Thank you all so much! I double-checked our Target today. I knew they carried California Baby, but didn't know until this thread that that's a "cloth diaper-safe" diaper rash ointment and I didn't know if my Target carried that specifically. They do, so I'm good to go!! :) I also have some Lansinoh and hadn't thought to use that. So it looks like the only thing I would need is diaper liners. :)

I agree. It has worked wonders for DS' incredibly rashy skin (5 minutes sitting in poop can make him bleed - that kind of rashy). Lanolin works wonders. Be sure to stick with pure lanolin though, like Lansinoh - I also have some Medela lanolin that's blended with some kind of oil to make it smoother - which is nice for applying it, but doesn't work nearly as well, IMO. And no staining or repelling problems.
