Please-Need a midwife in Alabama

Home birth is a tricky subject here and I don't know who to turn to. I plan to have my baby at home, with or without anyone's help but I would MUCH rather have a midwife 'just in case'. I am in the south eastern region...HELP!!

Did you ever find a midwife? I am desperately looking for a preceptor to apprentice under but do not know how to get in contact with someone seeing as how the laws are in Alabama.
