Places to take a one year old in st. Louis?

Hi mommas,

I went through the other thread on indoor play areas. My son turned one two weeks back but he is walking since nine months so a stable guy. But my problem is he gets run over by other toddlers in places like mall play areas. :eyesrollNot a big deal, but if someone had any ideas of where to take him where he can walk and explore with younger toddlers, please let me know! I am SAHM so all days are good. I don't mind shelling a few bucks either for a really good place.

Much thanks
Amy.
P.s: I am open for play dates as well! I live in west county. PM me please!innocent.gif

Now that it's warmer, we LOVE the zoo! They have a kids area with soft groud play areas, splash fountains, slide surrounded by otters, and goat petting! It cost a few bucks to get into that specific area (I can't remember how much but no more than 5 or 6 I'd say) My son is just shy of 1 (5/18) and enjoys it bunches! Going during the week makes for less extreme crowds too.

The Science Center is free, and there's a special little kid playroom (which costs a little extra). If you park in Forest Park and take the bridge over the freeway parking is free, too...

Thank you! I have been to both these places, but always before having my son. I will check out the kids zone then.

I agree with Science Center and Zoo. The Botanical Gardens are really nice too.

I should give you credit for the Science Center idea, of course! I was thinking of your then-one year old... smile.gif

Maybe also try the mall play spaces during "off" hours. We were up at Chesterfield Mall a recent Sunday morning before the stores opened and my two girls had the play space to themselves. And Crestwood Mall (is that what it's called, can't recall now) is usually pretty empty.

Magic House is good too, the toddler section in the morning.  The rest of it can and does get crazy but the little kid section is usually pretty calm

Thanks again, I have Greta options now. I recently went to the library lap time and that was very good. Loved it.
