What's your guess...am I pregnant?

I have a very regular 31 day cycle. It last for about 4 days, starts out with sore boobs and cramping the first day, along w/ heavy bleeding. the next few days it decreases dramatically until the 4th day I have almost no bleeding whatsoever and if I do it's almost always extremely light and more brown than red.

My last period was exactly 30 days ago. My partner and I had sex the 4th day of my period, almost no bleeding whatsoever. 1 1/2 weeks later I had very unusual spotting that was accompanied with no cramps or any usual period stuff. Then about 8 days later my boobs started getting very sore and have stayed that way every day since. My boobs are still a little sore and they feel bigger. It feels like I need to nurse. The past few days have been very emotional for me, but I'm not sure if I should count that as a symptom because there is adequate reason for my being emotionally high strung, aside from the possibility of being pregnant.

Now I'm just waiting to see if I'm going to miss my next period, which should start anytime now. But I've been feeling pregnant since I noticed my boobs being so sore for so long. What do you think?

So you DTD on CD4 and on CD14 you experienced spotting, then CD22 you had breast soreness and now you're on CD30 wondering if AF will show on time?  Do you chart your cervical fluid or temperatures?  Even though you have very regular cycles it does not guarantee that you will ovulate on the same cycle day each time.  And if your cycles are typically 31 days it would stand to reason that you tend to ovulate on CD15-20 depending on how long your typical luteal phase is.  So it would be pretty unlikely for you to ovulate on CD9 or 10, but it could happen.  Five days is about the limit for sperm catching the egg.  That could put implantation near CD14, but again hard to say without more information on your CF or BBT.  So, it's a possibility, but I'd say not very likely.  But if you did ovulate on CD9 or 10 then you would be 19 or 20 DPO, which should test positive on an HPT no problem.

I'm a little confused.  Was cycle day 4 the only time you guys had sex?  If so, I'd think it's unlikely you're pregnant unless you ovulated unusually early--in which case, you'd be well past the point of being able to get a positive pregnancy test--so maybe just test now?

If I were you, I would get a HPT. The ones at the dollar store work just as well as the $14 ones. It will settle your anxiety either way. I have to agree with other posters, it might be a couple days too early BUT if your cycle decided to be early all the sudden it would be possible. Sperm can live 5 days - which is how I conceived the one I am carrying now. As you get older, your cycles can fluctuate more, get shorter, etc.

Also confused here. Sex on CD 4 rarely causes pregnancy. If your cycle is normally 31 days you likely ovulate around Cd 17. There's no way sperm could live that long. If you somehow ovulated a week and a half early you could very well be pregnant and it would def show on a test by now. Good luck!

It is unlikely... some forms at least of FAM (including a fairly conservative form) have a rule that sex is safe for the first 5 days, because so few women ovulate so early that conception from sex on days 1-5 would be very rare. But rare isn't never! Sperm can, in some circumstances, live longer than five days - I've heard fairly reliable evidence of sperm "working" after 6 or even 7 days - so if you combined exceptionally hardy sperm with early ovulation, yep, it's possible.

Do you recall what your cervical fluid was like after your period? If you didn't have any, or it was very tacky and "dry", then sperm probably couldn't survive. If it were fertile-quality - egg-whiteish, wet and slippery - that would help the sperm stick around longer.

Either way, it's late enough in your cycle to take a pregnancy test. Hope you get the results you want!

I've gotten pregnant twice with sperm lasting 6 days.  Let's just say I don't really rely on NFP anymore!  Good luck.

period began right on time! It was just a really irregular cycle for me so I was second guessing everything. Thanks for all the posts!
