Our dear friend lost his dad today and his mom less than a month ago..

There is a lot of death swirling around our lives right now. DH's best friend, has known him since they were tiny lost his dad today. It wasn't a surprise because his dad was in his mid 80s and had been slowly declining for a long time but it is still hard because this guy lost his mom to breast cancer (she was much younger, only around 55 or so) less than a month ago. On top of that, the house had a reverse mortgage on it so this poor guy has to move out soon. He was living at home specifically to take care of his mother who died at home under his care and his sister's care. His dad was in a hospice of his own choice.

I feel so bad for him. DH went over there tonight. There isn't much to say but if you pray or if you just believe in good feelings think of my friend tonight because he is very much alone right now. He mentioned to DH he is an orphan now and it was just so sad.

I will say a prayer for your friend.  I feel for him because I am in a very similar situation.  My mom died last week and my father is getting hospice care and is in the final stages of his liver disease.  I've had the thought that I will be an orphan soon, even though it seems strange to say that at 35 years old.  I hope your friend is hanging in there.  It sounds like you and your dh are giving him good support.
