Had to share this editorial.

My favorite part of this piece:

The short ad, which you can see at the end of this article, doesn’t explicitly advocate not getting children vaccinated, but makes it clear they think there’s a choice to be made....

Ooooooooooo!  Letting health care consumers know that they have a choice?  Yikes!  That is dangerous!  winky.gif

Honestly, I didn't start questioning vaccines until so many in authority told me not to....

Grrrr... I am so tired of the craptacular pertussis argument! Using a problematic vaccine to try and "prove" that the uptick in pertussis infections is due to the unvaccinated is shoddy science at best and pure fearmongering at worst.

Ack! All I've got to say is: I'm really disturbed by that link and the assumptions and assertions that guy is making. Wow.

Reading that article doesn't even bother me. First thing that comes to mind is who is this guy anyway?  He doesn't provide any factual data at all.  Anyone with a mind of their own would not read that article and fall for its fearmongering and would research vaccines themselves and made their own decision.  Isn't freedom of choice a good thing? This guy is terribly brainwashed and seriously needs to educate himself.   I enjoyed reading the comments below the article though.

I'm happy for the ad and I hope it stays there.  We are always blinded with ads for vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs everywhere, so why isn't there freedom to put up ads indicating freedom of choice? Go NVIC!

BTW, this guy mentions Charlie Sheen, but does he know Charlie Sheen is a non-vaccine advocate?thumb.gif

Oh great! I can't wait to be lumped into the same category as Charlie Sheen!

I understandsmile.gif Charlie Sheen is certainly not one who should be leading any kind of group, particularly in his most recent state, but he has made some good points in the past and believe it or not, people do respect him (when he's not acting like a loon! LOL).  I don't agree with his other choices in life but it's his life, not mine.  I wouldn't worry about it. There are tons of other very bright people out there in the same categorywinky.gif

I just found it very funny this guy chose Charlie Sheen of all people to stick up for in regards to the whole "freedom" ad issue, yet, Charlie is not pro-vaccine.  Very ironic and certainly lacking details prior to writing that article.  It just shows how surface-based this article was with no depth whatsoever.

That's what I find so disturbing about it - that he makes these broad sweeping statements and generalizations as though he knows what he's talking about. There's a lot of arrogance there (in his article that is). It's a personal pet peeve of mine when people in general speak as though they know what they're talking about, when in reality they know very little. It can be very misleading if taken at face value.
