Does anyone know of any good herbal remedies for anxiety, that can be used in the daytime without causing drowsiness? I sometimes take valarian, but can only do so at night because it makes me so sleepy.
Thanks for the suggestions. My anxiety is more low grade than intense. I used to have panic attacks a long time ago and those were just awful; there's nothing like that going on now.
I started taking St. John's Wort a few days ago. I'm not depressed, but I read it was also good for anxiety, and I happened to find a bottle in my cabinet that I had bought a while ago (when I was depressed), so I'd figure I'd give it a try. So far, so good. Maybe it's a coincidence or the placebo effect, but I do feel a bit lighter.
5 HTP I get at Rexall under the brand Nature's Bounty. You can get it at a lot of pharmacies. I buy the 100mg and open them and take out half. Then I buy empty gel caps at the natural foods store and put the other half in so I have double the capsules.
L-Theanine (which is the active ingredient in green tea) I get at Noah's Natural Foods
