There are several homebirth midwives, feel free to pm me as I have worked with several of them.
There is also a great AP moms group that is non-denominational, I loved this group while I lived in St. George (2003-2008).

The biggest adjustment to those new in the area is the weather. Summer is HOT! July-August average temps are 105-115 with at least 3 weeks in August being over 110 daily. Fall/Winter/Spring are wonderful. There are hundreds of miles of bike/walking trails, numerous parks, a lot of them with splash pads. The Library is great with fantastic children/family programs.
If you are into outdoor recreation there are several National parks within easy driving distance, Zion Park is 45 minutes, Bryce Canyon (where I live) is 2.5 hours, Grand Canyon North Rim is 3.5-4 hours. As well as numerous state parks and recreation areas.
Craigslist for St. George has a lot of apartment listings so you can get a feel for cost of living.
If you have any more questions let me know.
Have a great day!
