Ads on Mothering.com

Am I the only one seeing ads for gross junky processed foods? I'd think the parents on these forums are some of the least likely to give their kids fruity pebbles bars to eat. Just saying. They just seem rather poorly targeted.

I agree! I was somewhat shocked to see the ad for the Fruity Pebbles bars here. There have been a few others that seemed out of place as well.

Oh yuck! I never see any ads. I really recommend Firefox as your internet browser with AD Block Plus. It is your friend. :-)

I seem to remember... is there some place to report ads to the admins?

What's to report? Not food that I or much of MDC would buy, but it's not offensive. And MDC probably survives based on ad revenue.

I'm actually all about the ads to help them generate income. I even click once in awhile if they really interest me. So the only problem is that they aren't sending the right ads to us lol

At the moment, they crack me up. I keep picturing my kids in time-outs (there are Parenting adds about "discipline") while I eat fruity pebbles and drink cucumber vodka. ROTFLMAO.gif

I mostly think they are hilariously misplaced but I certainly wouldn't complain. The website needsto make money somehow.

I don't think anyone said anything about reporting the ads, just that the items being advertised are kinda un-MDCish. I understand that MDC requires revenue to keep its service free to its users. thumb.gif
