Hi - Not sure if this is the proper place to post. Please redirect me if need be!
Â
Anyway, I have had three children - youngest will be 4 next month. I have an umbilical hernia that developed during my second pregnancy and got worse with the third. They thought it might close up on its own, but it's only grown larger.Â
Â
Surgeon says I should get it repaired now, when my body is younger and more able to cope with surgery. I will soon be 40, so I'm really not that "young."
Â
I have scheduled the surgery. They feel it will be a better outcome if I have regular surgery (as opposed to laproscopic). Â If anyone has had this surgery, any and all tips are appreciated!
Â
I am afraid to be put under, although I have done it once before and everything was fine. I spoke with the surgeon, and she said I could instead have an epidural and be sedated. I'm not crazy about epidurals either! I've had one of those as well. If you were going to have this surgery, which would you choose?Â
Â
Thanks for anyone's tips! The surgery is in less than 3 weeks and I'm getting nervous.
