OK....leaving in about an hour to bring my kids to a friend's. her 2 girls have confirmed CP.
Â
My kids are not vaccinated for it.
Â
Here are my questions:
Â
1. DD nursed for 3 years. She has not since she turned 3 (give or take). Will the antibodies she received from me back then help her or should I start pumping some milk for her to drink now?
Â
2. DS is still nursing. Will it help his recovery? I would hate to see DD far sicker than DS.
Â
3. DS has life threatening food allergies. He gets terrible eczema from some of them when they are not anaphylactic. But his skin is typically under control with monitoring his food labels. He doesn't really get any weather related eczema. I guess I'm concerned because I've read that kids with eczema have a rough go of it when they get CP. Anyone have some ideas on this?
Â
4. What are some of the ways *if any* I can start now to build up their immune systems to make sure they are not going to get a rough case?
Â
5. DD has a NJ state religious exemption for her school right now. DS will have medical because of his allergies (when he starts school in a year or so). Will we need to do anything different once they get CP?
Â
Thanks for reading this many questions and helping if you can!
Nervous, excited and sort of feel bad that I'm doing this today, but its the best thing for them, I know this. :)
