Hi there...this is my first post, although I have been reading these forums for months now. I have a wonderful 3 month old baby girl, who I am bringing to work with me. My partner and her dad works here also, and in most ways it is a really great situation (incredibly supportive boss/staff). I work 25-30 hrs a week, which means we do spend quite a lot of time in the office.

My question is if anyone has advice on how to encourage her to nap at work? At home, we have gotten into a nice routine before her naps or bedtime, which involves me lying down with her. Unfortunately, I can't do that here. She is a very alert baby and has a lot of trouble settling herself down, and sometimes will fall asleep while one of us is wearing her, but rarely sleeps for longer than 45 min. I think she needs more sleep because she will be fussy and irritable as the day goes on, but not sleep anymore.

All that said, she sleeps very well (in our bed) at night, usually for 12-13 hrs, barely waking to nurse a few times. But it seems like she needs more daytime sleep, and it's hard for me to do my office work with a fussy baby...I'm not complaining, just wondering if there are any solutions.

I have a swinging chair for her here, which she doesn't really enjoy unless she's well-rested and awake.

Thank you for any advice!
