Help me with my lawn - PLEASE :)

My husband and I are committed to a chemical free landscape and we both love a nice green lawn for the kids to play on.  The problem is that we have Creeping Charlie and a host of other weeds that seem determined to rule the lawn.  The weeds that tend to grow hold lots of moisture and bugs and make the backyard in particular not a great place to play.  Anyone know what I can do to handle the creeping Charlie and get a green lawn without resorting to chemicals???

Thanks!

An eco lawn that is more forgiving of weeds in general is a good bet with kids. Otherwise, you'll be facing a mountain of hand weeding at all times of the year while you reduce weeds and overseed the grasses.

By eco-lawn, do you mean a different type of ground covering?  I would love to hear more about that.  We have had other types of ground cover, but they just prove to be a MAJOR growing place for slugs (literally 3" ones).  I don't mind some weeds, but I would like to have lawn everywhere without the big mud spots we currently have.  Thanks!

This is my favorite informational site for organic lawn care.

It is called "organic lawn care for the cheap and lazy"  thumbsup.gif

(No affiliation to the site...just ran across it a few years ago and thought it was great. I don't think he is selling anything anyway!)
