Is there a way to get pen off a waldorf doll's face?

Yep, I made my daughter a doll last year and now she's got pen all over her face. My husband says it 'adds personality'. I'm ready to let it go if I can't get it out but thought you guys might have some tips. Thanks,

hairspray. Just spray it on and blot it off.  (the pump kind, not aerosol.)  you'll probably have to blot with water afterwards but hairspray always does the trick for me.
