Being a WAHM during Spring Break whine thread

Really, for the most part, my kids (ages 9, 11 and 13) have been lovely. I did not plan much for them at all, but my mom lives with us and she's been doing some baking and such with them. And the weather has been blessedly lovely so they've been spending a good bit of the day outside.

But sometimes, they are loud. And it seems those times always come around when I really need them not to be loud.

They also seem a bit out of practice about being with each other this many hours a day for this many days on end. So there is a lot of bickering. And there are 3 of them so there are these always changing alliances and peoples' feelings get hurt and someone gets left out and omg, please just be quiet.

I should be glad I have kids super involved in imaginative play instead of hours and hours infront of the tv right? But does the imaginative play have to be so loud? Can't they play pretend-mime school instead of having elaborate and loud classes taught by Lumberdore at Logwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Flippendo class? Where they learn to upend furniture? Ack!

And of course I am busy at work because other people took time off this week since, yk, kids home for spring break.

Sigh.

It's almost Friday. It's almost Friday. It's almost Friday.

My kids are on Spring Break too, and it's been a difficult week. They've been great (aside from some bickering), but my husband and I are both graduate students who trade off caring for them (and both of us work part time from home), and our work has really taken a hit. And like you said, somehow the loudest play happens at the worst time! Like you said, it's almost Friday . . .

Oh, no. It's raining. And my mother is out most of the day. I may need to break out the movies for them today.

Break out the movies mama!  And the popcorn.  All that crunching will make it hard to talk.  LOL  And, tomorrow's friday!!

The kids have been pretty good today. Mostly quiet, doing some reading and coloring. They are pretty awesome.
