I lost so many breastfeeding pictures when my last computer was stolen. :( I don't use FB, but here is a pic to add to the thread.

I understand wanting to limit nudity on such a widely used site. You never know who is looking on FB. Lots of lewd and creepy individuals out there. HowEVER, there is NOTHING lewd or creepy about breastfeeding. Is there a way to get in touch with Facebook people to gripe about this and ask that they lighten up?

This is me and my daughter at 2 weeks. Not very revealing but everyone knew what was going on and all the comments I got were positive.

I have had pictures of my naked infant flagged for removal however. What's the deal with that? I have my profile set to only allow my friends to see my pictures. What's wrong with my babe's booty? It's adorable!

Here is my son Fynn breast feeding. He is 6 months old. I havent put these on fb. I dont care about offending anyone with breast feeding. I just have my own modesty that makes me feel like being covered in public. But I'll gladly share these here for the sake of the cause!

I do think there is a difference in posting breastfeeding pictures and naked pictures of babies (showing their bits I mean). As an adult we fully know what we are getting into posting pictures of ourselves on the net. However a child has no say. How do you think they might feel in 15 years knowing their bits are online for all our "friends" to see. In addition, most people "friend" practically anyone on Facebook, not really knowing too much about them. Even though naked pics might be adorable and cute to the majority of us, there are some creeps out there, and I think our children should be protected.

I agree about the creeps and not wanting to show our babies' junk to everyone. I do however think baby buns are ok. We all have those embarrassing pics our parents threaten to show future romantic partners. And of course there's the baby diaper commercials. The only thing cuter than my son's little bottom is his face.

This photo is old, my sweetie is 7 months today. I love how he is smiling! He also does this chin quiver sometimes when hes nursing, its so precious! How could this be offensive!

I tried posting this pic once already and it didn't work so here is another try... Its old, he is 7 months today, but I love the little smile on this one. Now he smiles and mumbles at me happily while he nurses. It is soooo Sweet! How could such a sweet thing be offensive!?!

Breastfeeding is normal.  But I think Facebook is not necessarily normal.  And I would avoid posting anything there that you would not send for publication to the local newspaper.  In fact you have to be even more careful, especially if you are posting high resolution pictures, because once the pic is online, anyone can do anything with it.

Here I am nursing my 20mo DS in Capitol Reef Ntl Park, and also my very favorite nursing photo, one that was taken for an LLL fundraiser last year during World Breastfeeding Month. I am proud to share our photos, one of the best parts of Mothering issues was always the nursing photos in the letters section. I always looked forward to them, and wish I would have sent some in before it was too late

About a week old, I was just cuddling Jova because she developed a nipple aversion, Sunny was already passed out:

Right before Jova got her aversion (so maybe 4 days old)...she was having troubles and had actually just fallen asleep here with the nipple in her mouth.

Sunny at 3 weeks old, look how excited she is! :)

 

Sunny at one month old, I giggled so much watching her nipple search while laying tummy-to-tummy.  Got me every time.

 

 

 

 

Had Jova nursing full time by four weeks of age, here she is in a milk coma. :)

I used to tandem nurse them laying on my back with each baby supported with a pillow on either side.  Couldn't believe my boobs stretched that way!

Here's the most recent one of us, taken the other night, they are about 8.5 months old now.  Daddy thought we looked adorable, I had just gotten out of the shower, so I'm naked, and so are they! :) :)
